Privacy Policy

At Gathered, your privacy is foundational. Gathered Corporation, a Texas Public Benefit Corporation, built this Service to serve the Christian community — not to profit from your data. We never sell your data and we never run ads. This policy explains what we collect and why.
1. Information we collect
We collect the information you provide when you create an account (such as your name and email), the content you choose to share, and basic technical data needed to operate the Service (such as device and usage information for reliability and security). This includes a limited device signal used solely to enforce bans — see Device identification & anti-abuse below.
2. How we use information
We use your information to provide and improve the Service, to keep it safe, to power features like the Prayer Wall and Circles, and to communicate with you about your account. We do not use your data to target advertising.
3. What we never do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with data brokers. We do not run third-party advertising networks inside Gathered. These are commitments, not settings.
4. Service providers
We work with trusted providers to operate Gathered — including Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payments), Apple DeviceCheck and Fingerprint (device identification for anti-abuse), and providers for media hosting and error monitoring. These providers process data only as needed to deliver their service to us.
5. Device identification & anti-abuse
To keep Gathered safe, we need to make a ban actually stick. When someone is removed from the Service for serious violations, we use a limited device signal so that the same device cannot immediately create a new account. How this works depends on your platform:
On iPhone and iPad, we use Apple's DeviceCheck. Apple — not Gathered — stores two bits of information associated with your device. We can ask Apple whether a device has been flagged, and set that flag when we ban an account. We never receive a device identifier, and we store nothing about your device in our systems.
On Android, we use Fingerprint to generate a device identifier that we store only when an account is banned, so that identifier can be recognized if it returns. We do not create or retain this record for accounts in good standing.
This is used only to prevent banned users from returning and to protect the community from abuse. We do not use it for advertising, tracking you across other companies' apps or websites, analytics, or personalizing what you see. If your account is deleted and was never banned, no device record is retained.
6. Your choices & rights
You can access, update, or delete your account information at any time from within the app. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data in accordance with applicable law. You may contact us with any privacy request.
7. Children's privacy
Gathered is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
